180W U-housing AC-DC power supply for space-constrained medical, industrial and communications applications

     XP Power has announced the launch of 180W U-housing AC-DC power supplies for space-constrained medical (BF), industrial and communications applications. With a height of just 29.5 mm and a space footprint of 107.6 mm x 62.8 mm, this ultra-thin size device can be used for high-density designs. The product is compliant with Class I and Class II applications and provides 2 x MOPP (Patient Protected Mode) isolation while providing up to 94% efficiency.

     The UCP180 series Psus feature integrated 12V, 500mA fan outputs and do not require any external drive circuits. When used with a fan that delivers 10CFM of airflow, the product can deliver 180W of power at full load - a power density of 14.2W/in³. They are also suitable for convection cooling applications that transport 120W (9.4W/in³). The U-shell type construction provides a robust housing with the option of capping for user use.

     Suitable for medical (BF) applications, the PSU meets the EN60601-1 safety standard and provides 2 x MOPP isolation (4kV) and low leakage current (50µA), making it suitable for applications in BF application parts. The product also complies with IEC60950-1-1 and IEC62368-1 safety standards, as well as EMC performance standards EN61000-4, making it suitable for a wide range of communications and industrial applications.

     There is a total of seven variants offering single outputs of 12V, 15V, 18V, 24V, 28V, 36V and 48V in the series. All devices have a universal input range of 12V, 15V, 18V, 24V, 28V, 36V and 48V. All devices have a universal input range of.
