
Diodes Corporation is a leading global manufacturer and supplier of high-quality, application-specific standard products for a broad range of markets, including standalone, logic, analog and mixed-signal semiconductors. The company recently announced AP63200 / AP63201 / AP63203 / AP63205 2 a synchronous dc to dc buck converter, providing leading EMI performance of similar products, covering all kinds of input and output voltage. These devices are ideal for a wide range of product applications, including home appliances, industrial electronics, telecommunications equipment, power tools, office equipment, and consumer products such as televisions and set-top boxes.
Switching DC-DC converters generally generate a large amount of EMI to the design. But AP63200 / AP63201 / AP63203 / AP63205 adopts frequency spread-spectrum (FSS) technology, a plus or minus 6% of the switching frequency jitter, plus proprietary gate drive technology, realize the industry the best EMI performance at the same level. This design supports single-layer PCBS and eliminates the need for pilot holes, further reducing EMI. The proprietary gate driver design further enhances the product and helps reduce switching node ringing without sacrificing MOSFET on and off time.
The fully integrated device uses both high-side and low-side MOSFETs with very low on-resistance RDS(ON), Diodes' proprietary gate driver technology and compensation network. AP63200 / AP63201 / AP63203 / AP63205 by adopting the technology of pulse frequency modulation (PFM), can be in light load (5 ma output current) provide up to 88% of the outstanding efficiency, minimum can be up to 22 (including A static current.
A wide input voltage range of 3.8V to 32V supports a variable output voltage of 0.8V to VIN (AP63200/AP63201), or a fixed output voltage of 3.3V (AP63203) or 5V (AP63205). All units provide a maximum continuous output current of 2A. The AP63200/AP63201 device can also be used as an LDO regulator for 100% operating cycle, providing a stable output voltage within 1% of the unregulated input voltage. All units are designed to withstand input voltage surges up to 40V and up to 400ms.
