A new 800W DC/DC power converter with two outputs

     Artesyn Embedded Technologies has announced a new 800W DC/DC power converter with two outputs. This model AGF800-48D3005 power converter is not only highly efficient, but also has excellent heat dissipation capability, which is most suitable for telecommunications equipment and server computing systems. Since this power module is equipped with one 30V and another 5V output, there is no need to add another module to the system, helping to reduce costs and save board space.

     The new AGF800 dual output power converter is packaged in the size of a full-brick power module with an efficiency of 93.5% (typical) and is suitable for a wide input voltage range of 2:1 (36V to 75V). The 30V output can provide up to 23.3A output current, while the 5V output can provide 20A output current.

     Artesyn Embedded Technologies' AGF800 dual output power module uses an aluminum substrate as the circuit backplate, so it can operate in the ambient temperature range of -40 to +85 degrees Celsius, and even when the substrate temperature is up to 100 degrees Celsius, It can also continue to operate at full power without the need for air cooling. This dual output power module has an extremely wide output voltage adjustment range, which can stabilize the rated output voltage of 30V in the range of 20V to 33V, and the rated output voltage of 5V can be stabilized in the range of 3V to 6V.

     This series of power conversion modules also has many other functions, such as remote control and remote output detection, as well as general protection functions such as input undervoltage protection, output overcurrent protection, output overvoltage protection and overheat protection. In addition, there is no minimum load requirement for this series of modules, thus ensuring a more stable and reliable operation, resulting in an average time to failure (MTBF) of up to 2,800,000 hours (based on the Telcordia SR-332-2006 reliability test benchmark).
