A new MOSFET relay that provides higher dielectric strength and sensitivity

Omron Electronics has expanded its MOSFET relay G3VM family product line, which now offers increased sensitivity and higher dielectric strength capabilities. These new models will reduce power consumption at startup and reduce input current by a third when running. Its relays facilitate smaller, denser devices than equivalent mechanical devices. Compared with the reed relay, the input power consumption is extremely low, further increasing the energy-saving equipment.

     The Omron Electric subsidiary has expanded its MOSFET relay G3VM family product line, which now offers increased sensitivity and higher dielectric strength capabilities. Its new g3vm-61 vy4 extends the 60 v SOP4 relay to 0.7 continuous load current with a dielectric strength of 3,750 vrms, while 350 v G3VM-35VY1 increases the continuous load to 110 ma with a dielectric strength of 3,750 vrms between I/OS.

 

     The new relay conforms to the SOP4 special format and is 2.1mm high, 3.7mm wide and 7mm long. They share the same mounting pad footprint as existing sop4 relays. The new model's high dielectric strength supports applications that require high isolation between i/OS. The high sensitivity of these devices is particularly suited to sensor applications, for example, transmitting sensor signals in security solutions and switching output signals from control units.

 

     The company's MOSFET relays are an industry leader in optical semiconductor technology, employing inputs, PDAs as optical couplers, and MOSFET chips for load switching current. In addition to being maintenance-free, mosfet relays offer high speed operation and compact size, further facilitating mechanical relay replacement.
