A product line of Ethernet bridge chips for automotive and industrial applications

     Toshiba Electronic Components & Storage Corporation announced the expansion of its automotive Ethernet bridge IC product line with the introduction of a new "TC9562 series", the TC9562AXBG, which offers more interfaces than Toshiba's existing bridge IC TC9560 series. TC9562BXBG supports Ethernet TSN and Ethernet AVB; The TC9562XBG has a simpler configuration than existing products.

     The Ethernet AVB specification provides real-time and reliable data transmission and is increasingly used in vehicles. Toshiba currently offers the TC9560 series Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000Mbps) solution compliant with IEEE 802.1AS and IEEE 802.1Qav.

     In recent years, more and more vehicles have become connected. They are connected to the Internet and mobile networks, and information can be shared between onboard systems and devices, as well as with external systems and services. In addition, low-latency communication is critical for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving technologies. These developments require the implementation of reliable transmission standards supported by real-time data transmission for more complex automotive communication systems. The Ethernet TSN standard was developed specifically to meet these needs.

     Toshiba's new product family responds to market demand and supports the existing AVB and new TSN networking standards. The TC9562XBG has a simpler configuration than the existing product family. TC9562AXBG has RGMII, RMII, MII[5] and SGMII interfaces of existing products, and supports extended interface functions. In addition to the TC9562AXBG features, the TC9562BXBG also supports the Ethernet TSB standards IEEE 802.1Qbv, IEEE 802.1Qbu, and IEEE 802.3br.
