A programmable 12-channel RGB-LED driver that enhances the lighting of smart devices and wearables

     The 12-channel LED driver LED1202 uses patented technology to prevent distracting flashes in the "water light" or "running horse light" LED animation effects, making the human-computer interaction of smart home devices, wearables and small appliances smoother and more natural. LED1202 has two products on the market, LED1202JR in 1.71mm x 2.16mm WLCSP-20 flip chip package, LED1202QTR in 3mm x 3mm VFQFPN-20 package.

     The LED1202 driver stores eight programmable lighting patterns and sequences and operates independently of the main controller, enabling the host system to save power while continuously running complex lighting effects. The internal 12-bit PWM dimming can achieve accurate control of the programming sequence, and the master controller can set 8-bit values to achieve analog dimming through the driver's I2C interface. The design of a complete drive circuit requires very few external components.

     The LED1202 has 12 output channels, and a single device can drive 4 RGB LED beads, and the maximum output current of each channel is 20mA. With the innovative synchronization function, up to eight LED1202 drivers can be connected together to control a larger LED lighting array. In addition, the matching degree of the low current channel is less than 2% (typical value) at 2.5mA, and the excellent matching degree can enhance the uniformity of the light color. Interchannel phase-shifting technology minimizes current ripple and prevents excessive peak flow requirements. Built-in safety features include open LED detection, overheat protection, and failure marker pins.
