ABLIC S-82M1A, S-82N1A, S-82N1B Battery protection ic

     ABLIC S-82M1A, S-82N1A, and S-82N1B battery protection ics provide longer battery life and increased safety, and have ultra-low 990nA(maximum) current consumption during operation. The device is designed for single lithium-ion and lithium-polymer rechargeable batteries with overcharge detection voltage accuracy up to ±15mV.

     The ABLIC S-82M1A Battery protection IC uses an external current detection resistor to reduce the effect of temperature changes and provide high-precision overcurrent protection. The S-82N1A has an external input to the CTL(charge-discharge control signal input) pin, which activates the charge-discharge control function and disables battery charge-discharge. The IC provides thermal protection by connecting the PTC thermistor to the CTL pin, which prohibits charging and discharging at high temperatures.

     The S-82N1B has an external input to the PS(save electrical input) pin that will activate the power saving function and disable battery discharge. At the same time, the protection IC itself will suppress the current consumption to a maximum of 50nA. When the product is in storage and not in use, this feature can extend the time when the battery voltage drops to zero, preventing deep discharge of the product and improving safety. All three devices are packaged in a compact SNT-6A package, ideal for space-constrained applications.
