ADI introduces its expanded Battery Management System (BMS) product line

     Analog Devices announced the launch of its expanded Battery Management System (BMS) product line that meets the ASIL-D functional safety level and offers new and innovative low-power features for continuous battery monitoring. This new family of devices further enhances the differentiation of ADI's BMS platform by providing today's industry-proven ultra-high precision and supporting all major battery chemistry - including cobalt-free LFP (lithium iron phosphate) - for mass market electric vehicles (EVs) and battery pack recycling energy storage systems (ESS).

     Sales of pure electric vehicles continue to accelerate as consumers increasingly favor more environmentally friendly modes of transportation and governments take proactive actions to create a sustainable future. The challenge for automakers is how to cost-effectively scale their electric vehicle platforms while meeting changing safety requirements around the world. In addition, to ensure maximum range per charge, vehicle power consumption must be managed during driving and parking. ADI's latest BMS products not only support multiple cell configurations, but also feature innovative low power features that enable continuous monitoring of the battery, even when the vehicle is powered off, to ensure safety in a variety of conditions while maximizing the vehicle's range.
