ADMV8526 1.25 GHz to 2.6 GHz Digital Tunable Bandpass Filter of Analog Devices

     The ADMV8526 of ADI is a monolithic tunable filter IC with center frequency and pass band width, which can be configured in real time through the simple serial peripheral interface (SPI) command in the system. Its compact dimensions and flexible tunability simplify the system design and shorten the engineering development time. The ADMV8526 offers the advantage of low SWaP-C (size, weight, power, and cost) in a variety of applications.

     The filter center frequency (fCENTER) can be adjusted in the range of 1.25 GHz to 2.60 GHz using 8-bit values (256 states) containing the patent pending interpolation technology.

     Typical 3 dB bandwidth is 9% and tunability is ± 2%. The insertion loss is usually 4 dB, and the difference between 20 dB suppression and fCENTER is 16%, which is very suitable for minimizing system interference. The tunable filter can be used as a smaller alternative to large switching filter banks and tunable filters based on discrete components, and the device provides a dynamically adjustable solution in advanced communication applications.

     The ADMV8526-EVALZ can be used to evaluate the ADMV8526 digital tunable band-pass filter (BPF). ADMV8526-EVALZ integrates ADMV8526 chip, negative voltage generator, low dropout (LDO) voltage regulator, and interface with EVAL-SDP-CS1Z (SDP-S) system demonstration platform (SDP) to achieve simple and efficient evaluation. The negative voltage generator and LDO regulator allow the ADMV8526 to use the 5V USB power supply voltage of the PC or two external power supplies through SDP-S.

     ADMV8526 is an IC with digital selectable operating frequency. The chip can be programmed with 4-wire SPI. The SDP-S controller allows users to interact with the SPI of ADMV8526 through the analysis and control evaluation (ACE) software of Analog Devices, Inc
