Ac AC triac provides easier heat management

     Littelfuse QJxx30xH4 30A AC resistor triac, now available from Mouser, enables simpler thermal management and higher surge handling capabilities in AC power control applications. These TRACs are available in quadrants I, II, and III, and provide high-performance applications requiring high reversing capability.

     The device has a maximum junction temperature of 150C, a 350A ITSM at 60Hz half cycle, and voltage capability of up to 800V. They are halogen-free, RoHS-compliant and available in TO-220 isolation packaging. Typical applications include control of heaters for coffee brewers, i.e., hot water heaters, infrared heaters; Ac sales of status relays, incandescent lamps and LED dimmers; And motor speed control for kitchen appliances, power tools, household eyebrow/white goods, and compressor motor control.
