     TRINAMIC announced the release of the PD20-1-1210, a highly miniaturized mechatronics solution for compact application needs. The PD20-1-1210 offers state-of-the-art motion control and is ideal for laboratory automation, robotics, life sciences, biotechnology and many other applications without prior motion control expertise.

     Like all other PANdrive smart motors, the PD20-1-1210 embeds advanced motor control functions, motion control and PLC functionality into a single, cost-effective PANdrive™. Plug and play motion control with a single connector cable.

     The smart motor is equipped with an RS485 interface and Trinamic compatible TMCL protocol. Together with the free TPCL-IDE, independent program flow can be easily implemented. Graphical tools and wizards guide engineers through parameterization to choose the technology they want to apply. The module has a reference switch input that can be programmed as a left or right limit switch. In addition, it is equipped with stallGuard2™ for sensorless homing and an integrated rotary Hall encoder.

     With the TMC2130 at its core, the PD20-1-1210 offers advanced current control technology and a variety of ramp profiles. High-resolution microstep operation with up to 256 microsteps per step produces vibration-free positioning, reducing noise and jitter. With Trinamic's patented StealthChop™ current control for low speed silent positioning and SpreadCycle™ for high speed maximum performance, PanDrive™ delivers superior performance ina compact package.
