Advanced Energy launches medical and industrial power conversion platform with high power density

     Advanced Energy has introduced two new lines of AC-DC power supplies with industry-leading power densities for critical medical and industrial equipment. The SL Power NGB800 800 W and NGB1200 1200 W series are designed to optimize and meet performance, power, size, reliability and compliance requirements for medical and industrial applications.

     The power supply has a compact profile with a typical efficiency of over 90%. Comprehensive medical, industrial safety and EMC certification tests, in accordance with IEC 60601-1-2 Edition 4, suitable for medical equipment and heavy industry applications.

     "Medical and industrial Oems are looking to reduce device size, improve performance, increase service life and shorten time to market," said Conor Duffy, vice president of Medical power product marketing at Advanced Energy. "The high efficiency, small size and long service life of the NGB series meet all relevant standards, allowing device designers to address these challenging requirements, while the Advanced Energy technology team provides deep engineering and integration support to further accelerate the development cycle."

     Designed to meet lifetime reliability requirements for devices ranging from medical imaging to patient monitoring to industrial automation, the NGB series delivers over 500,000 hours of MTBF and a 3-year shelf life. It uses high-quality electrolytic capacitors with a working life of more than 7 years to further improve long-term high reliability.

     These new power supplies are suitable for a wide input range of 85-264VAC, with output voltages ranging from 12Vdc to 48Vdc. The NGB800 series uses convection cooling, while the NGB1200 incorporates an ultra-reliable, low-noise fan.
