Advanced Energy has announced the release of a high-density, high-efficiency 48-V, 36-kW dual-end, open-rack power supply designed for ultra-large scale computing devices and enterprise data centers, where computing systems and storage devices can be operated more reliably and reliably.
Advanced Energy's new Artesyn 2U rack power provides 97% energy efficiency, a hot-swappable controller, and support for up to 12 48V, 3kW, open-rack rectifiers. These rectifiers have built-in automatic switching switches (ATS) that automatically switch the input to another AC power supply whenever a loss of power is detected from the main AC supply without interruption of the output voltage during the switch.
Harry Soin, Senior director of technology Marketing for VLDC at Advanced Energy, said: "Data center operators have been looking to reduce power consumption and operating costs to meet the increasing power consumption of the new generation of high-performance processors. These are two major challenges. The old rack power supply uses 12V architecture, the new generation of power supply is changed to 48V architecture, the result of this development makes the conduction loss reduced to only 1/16 of the previous, and the open system specifications also ensure that different brands of products can operate and interconnect, and reduce the overall cost of the system. "Advanced Energy's open rack power supplies and rectifiers meet these requirements, and the addition of automatic switching switches (ATS) maximizes availability time."
Advanced Energy's 36kW ORV3-compliant rack power supply is compatible with star, delta, and single-phase input configurations and features a hot-swappable, DMTF Redfish® -compatible rack controller for easy and secure safety monitoring and control functions over Ethernet. The 48V, 3kW rectifier built into this rack power supply is basically a single-phase AC-DC power supply with a high voltage line, which can convert the input voltage between 200V(AC) and 277V(AC) into a 48V output. The output voltage is limited to a narrow frequency band to avoid bulky designs, and the AC-DC power supply can perform 4:1 DC/DC conversion to supply power to 12V loads downstream.
The rack power supply and related rectifier fully comply with the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) standards of EN61000-4-5 and EN55035, as well as the product safety standards of IEC/UL/EN62368.
