Advanced Energy's new small size high-power CS1000 series fanless power supply is available

Advanced Energy Industries has been developing a wide range of advanced high-precision power conversion, measurement and control systems and other solutions, and this area of technology has been a global leader. The company announced the introduction of the new CS1000 Series of fanless power supplies as part of its Excelsys product line. This series of highly energy efficient power supplies use convection air to dissipate heat and provide power output up to 1000W without the need for a fan. Because there is no cooling floor, it is light in weight, and it does not produce noise and vibration, so it is suitable for a variety of different medical devices, as well as clinical and diagnostic equipment that are more sensitive to the effects of vibration, and industrial products.

This new series of CS1000 power supplies follows this tradition. In general, a typical fanless power supply requires the addition of a baseplate for cooling, but the disadvantage is that the finished product is heavier and the system design is less flexible. The CS1000 series is one of the few fanless power supplies that can provide such a high power output without a baseplate. In a compact 1U high package, this series of power supplies delivers 1000W of power without fanless cooling and leads the industry in performance and advanced control technology. Our customers can add even more innovative features to their products by adopting this series of power supplies."

The CS1000 series power supply is another new family of Excelsys low voltage power supply line, with a conversion efficiency of 94%, the market leader, and a 24W biased output, providing 5V or 12V output. There are also 24V or 48V single-output versions for 90V to 264V AC. The CS1000 Series power supply is fully functional, allowing system design engineers to add new designs for specific mission-critical applications to improve system performance, efficiency, and stability. Relevant applications include:

● Medical equipment: clinical diagnostic equipment, medical laser equipment, dialysis equipment, radiographic imaging system, clinical chemistry equipment

●  Industrial products: test and measurement systems, industrial equipment, production automation systems, printing presses, telecommunications equipment, sound systems

● Stable and reliable: industrial electronic systems for harsh environments, radar systems (shipboard and field), communication systems, test and measurement equipment

This series of power supplies provides intelligent analog and digital control and monitoring capabilities via the Power Management Bus (PMBus), an open standard digital power management feature. The control and monitoring features provided include AC failure, global remote switching, output voltage/current control, and many other protection features such as overvoltage, overcurrent, short circuit and overheat protection.

The CS1000 series power supply is available in two versions, M and S, each with 24V or 48V outputs. The CS1000M version is certified to IEC60601-1 Edition 3 and IEC60601-1-2 Edition 4 (Electromagnetic compatibility) for medical devices and offers dual insulation protection (2xMOPP), primary/secondary coil isolation for 4kVac, and < 300uA leakage protection. The CS1000S version has been issued with the IEC60950 product safety certification and also supports the upcoming IEC62368-1 industrial product safety standard.
