Advantech (2395, TW), a global AIoT platform and service provider, is introducing the AIR-150, a compact edge AI inference system powered by the 13th generation Intel Core mobile processor. Despite its small size (156 x 112 x 60 mm), it has the 26 TOPS AI computing power provided by the Hailo-8 AI accelerator. The AIR-150 is no less impressive when it comes to connectivity, offering application-centric I/O, including COM, USB, LAN, and M.2 e-keys for seamless expansion and connection of peripherals.
It has a wide operating temperature range of -20 to 60°C and complies with IEC standards for heavy industry, ensuring stable performance in industrial environments. This compact, yet powerful AI system enables high AI computing power with low power consumption, making it ideal for AI applications such as autonomous mobile robots, baggage security, defect detection and worker safety monitoring. To simplify the transformation and deployment of AI models, the AIR-150 offers easy-to-use software to accelerate AI development.
The AIR-150 is equipped with the Hailo-8 AI acceleration module, which provides 26 TOPS of computing power. Compared to NVIDIA's Jetson Orin Nano and Xavier NX, the AIR-150 has more AI capabilities, resulting in higher throughput and lower latency for AI inference. In addition, the AIR-150 offers comprehensive AI software support, including the Advantech Edge AI SDK, a rapid AI development kit that integrates seamlessly with the HailoRT Runtime SDK for easy deployment. To address customers' development pain points, the AIR-150 comes with the Dataflow Compiler, a practical toolkit for quickly converting various AI models between platforms, and TAPPAS, which provides several pre-training examples including multi-stream object detection, distance segmentation, classification, attitude estimation, and more.
The AIR-150 supports an operating temperature range of -20 to 60°C and uses Advantech's dedicated cooling solution for the Hailo-8 AI accelerator to withstand harsh industrial environments. It runs heavily loaded AI inference models, such as Yolov3, without overheating. In addition, the AIR-150 is equipped with application-centric I/O ports, including COM for gyroscopes/stepper motors, USB for cameras, LAN for 2D/3D LiDAR, and M.2 E-Key for Wi-Fi module connectivity. It is worth mentioning that the inference system is certified to the IEC 61000-6-4 and 61000-6-2 standards for heavy industry and is Energy Star certified to support sleep/low power mode and network wake up.
