Advantech, a global embedded computing manufacturer, recently announced the launch of the industrial-grade fanless Mini-ITX motherboard AIMB-218, which is based on the 8th generation intel ATOM Elkhart Lake low-power CPU processor, adopts 10nm technology (6-12W TDP), and supports up to four cores and eight threads. 3.0GHz core frequency and up to 850MHz of the 11th generation graphics card, CPU performance increased by 50%, graphics processing capacity increased by 100%, both cost-effective. Designed for industrial edge computing applications requiring high-resolution graphics and reduced energy consumption, it is suitable for semi-outdoor industrial environments, including applications in self-service terminals, digital signage, industrial controls, and medical devices.
Advantech AIMB-218 is equipped with Intel UHD Graphics up to 32EU and has excellent image processing capability. At the same time, it has a rich display interface, including DisplayPort 1.2, HDMI 1.4, LVDS, and eDP, supports three 4K resolution monitors and can scan line by line at 60 fps rate. In addition, the AIMB-218 supports DDR4 3200MHz and up to 32GB IBECC, significantly improving storage capacity. The solution supports onboard UFS 2.0 with storage capacity of 32 to 256GB, which can increase the transfer rate to 1200 MB/s, twice that of SATA III. AIMB-218 adopts the next generation graphics card, supports high rate data transmission, and can achieve high resolution video content with low latency in embedded display and control applications.
AIMB-218 is small and practical, with a height of only 21mm and has a variety of I/O connections, including dual GBE LAN ports, 3 USB 3.2 Gen2, 5 USB 2.0, and 1 SATA III. In addition, AIMB-218 supports 6 times high speed (1Mbps) COM (COM 1 supports 5V/12V, COM2 supports RS-232/422/485 automatic flow control), which can improve network data synchronization accuracy and shorten the delay time during the communication period of the device.
