Allegro adds high-precision GMR sensor ics to its range of wheel speed products

     Allegro announced an update to its line of wheel speed sensors to meet all industry requirements, from high-precision GMR (Giant Magnetoresistance) to Hall-effect sensor solutions. The new A19250 and A19350, based on Allegro's patented GMR technology, deliver industry-leading performance and are compatible with Hall Effect products as alternative solutions. The introduction of these devices makes Allegro's range of wheel speed products ideal for meeting all the demanding requirements of today's wheel speed applications.

We are proud to add these new products based on GMR technology to the Hall sensor family, which meet multiple speed or speed/direction protocol requirements and offer the full benefits of GMR or Hall sensors, all integrated with the latest safety features and algorithms."

     The A19250 and A19350 based on GMR technology are designed to be used in conjunction with magnetic wheels to measure speed and directional information. By integrating the most advanced GMR technology with industry-leading signal processing algorithms on a single chip, it can provide greater repeatability at higher operating air gaps and low differential magnetic input signals to support higher accuracy requirements. GMR technology combined with differential sensing technology can suppress common mode magnetic field interference.

     The GMR Wheel speed sensor IC is available in a small, single-in-line package with an integrated EMC protection capacitor and complies with the ISO 26262 (under evaluation) functional safety standard. Allegro's solutions based on the Hall Effect include the ARS19200, ATS19200 and A19300 wheel speed sensor ics. The high flexibility of Hall effect sensors makes it easy to integrate back magnetic, and whether the target application is a magnetic or iron wheel, these products provide highly accurate speed or speed/direction information.

     These products are also available in small, single-in-line packages with integrated EMC protection and comply with ISO 26262 (under evaluation) functional safety standards. For further design, the ATS19200 is a fully integrated wheel speed sensor with EMC protection and back magnetic, providing a fully optimized sensor IC solution for iron wheel applications.
