Allegro introduces Hall effect current sensor

Allegro MicroSystems has announced the introduction of its new Hall effect current sensor IC, the ACS70310, which offers high speed and precision for sensing applications above 400A, making it ideal for high-precision sensing of 1000A or higher currents in hybrid/electric vehicle inverter applications.

     Allegro MicroSystems has announced the introduction of its new Hall effect current sensor IC, the ACS70310, which offers high speed and precision for sensing applications above 400A, making it ideal for high-precision sensing of 1000A or higher currents in hybrid/electric vehicle inverter applications. The ACS70310 is also a powerful solution with diagnostic capabilities to help improve safety and reliability.

 

     The ACS70310 linear current sensor has a sensitivity of ± 1.2% and an offset deviation of ±5mV over the automotive temperature range of -40 ° C to 150 ° C. With its own short-circuit and overcurrent detection functions and analog output voltage proportional to the applied magnetic field, the output response time is 2μs and the typical operating bandwidth is 240 KHZ, which enables higher safety.

 

     The ACS70310 current sensor is also very strong and durable, and its onboard power supply regulator enables the power supply pin to withstand voltage of ±18V, which can effectively protect the battery reverse connection, and the output pin can withstand voltage of +16 to -6V, which can protect the automotive voltage transients in harsh environments. High-sensitivity Hall components with BiCMOS interface ics integrate low-noise, small-signal high-gain amplifiers, low-impedance output stages, and proprietary high-bandwidth dynamic bias elimination technology.

 

     The ACS70310 comes in an extremely thin form factor (1 mm thickness) in a 4-pin SIP (single-in-line, suffix KT) package, lead-free, with a pin frame of 100% mist tin plating. It can also be programmed on-site by the customer after assembly into the final system in order to optimize sensitivity and deviation, and other parameters are also programmable. Customers can also order Allegro programming equipment and perform fast and efficient software calibration of sensitivity and deviation via the system microcontroller.
