Allegro introduces a 400kHz current sensor with a rated isolation voltage of 5kV with increased accuracy

Allegro MicroSystems announced the introduction of the ACS37002 Series of advanced Hall Effect current sensors capable of supporting currents up to 180A and bandwidths up to 400kHz, while having low offset voltages and a typical overall accuracy of better than 1% over the entire -40 to 150 ° C automotive temperature range.

Allegro, a global leader in power and sensing solutions for motion control and energy saving systems, announced the introduction of the ACS37002 series of advanced Hall Effect current sensors capable of supporting up to 180A and 400kHz bandwidth with low offset voltages. And the typical total accuracy is better than 1% in the whole range of -40 ~ 150 ° C automotive temperature.

 

The high-speed operation capability of the new product allows customers to choose higher switching frequencies while supporting more efficient SiC and GaN switching platforms. The ACS37002 series also uses differential sensing technology for high immunity to external magnetic fields and offers three surface mount options optimized for low noise, high isolation or the lowest internal power consumption in its class.

The ACS37002 is ideal for demanding applications such as the green energy industry and electric vehicles, including:

High performance, simplified and fast switching power converter system design for ACS37002

In most power conversion applications, faster switching speeds increase efficiency, so the industry is increasingly adopting SiC and GaN switches to achieve higher speeds. With the release of the ACS37002 product family, Allegro is responding directly to this market trend by maximizing the speed of Hall sensors. High-speed current sensors with higher accuracy and DC stability enable tighter control of the motor or power converter control loop, which improves the overall efficiency of the system. While enabling faster switching, the ACS37002 also helps designers reduce the overall system size.
