
Allegro MicroSystem today announced the introduction of the A31315, the newest member of the 3DMAG family of rotary and linear magnetic position sensor ics for automotive and industrial applications. The 3DMAG™ family of sensors combines Allegro's long-proven planar and vertical Hall effect technology with the ability to operate along three axes (X, Y, X, Y, X, Y). Z) Measurement of magnetic field components for true 3D sensing capabilities with a wide magnetic dynamic range without saturation.
The continued evolution of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving systems has created new performance and functional safety challenges for system integrators. The A31315 sensor overcomes these challenges by providing the measurement accuracy and performance necessary for safety-critical automotive applications to meet the stringent requirements of steering, braking, transmission and throttle systems.
The A31315 sensor's flexible 3D Hall front end and configurable signal processing architecture enable high precision, absolute linear/rotational position measurements up to 360°, while mitigating system integration challenges due to greater sensor placement freedom. Existing 3DMAG devices such as the ALS31300 and ALS31313 also support 3D magnetometer applications, but require all three magnetic field components (BX, BY, BZ) to track complex magnet motion.
