Allegro's A31010 unipolar Hall effect sensor provides optimum performance while taking up the smallest board space

     Allegro's A31010 linear Hall effect sensor IC provides a voltage output proportional to the applied magnetic field. These unipolar Hall effect sensors provide optimum performance for frontal push-pull applications. These unipolar sensors are only sensitive to a single specific magnetic pole; Therefore, when measuring the range from 0 G to full scale, the full scale of the output is used.

     The user controlled sleep pin and fast wake-up time allow the A31010 to consume the least power and quickly provide magnetic data after wake-up. These characteristics, coupled with a 2.5 V low supply voltage rating and non ratio metric output, make these ICs ideal for battery powered applications. These sensors have a sleep mode to minimize power consumption. They can quickly enter and exit sleep and wake modes to minimize the time in high power active mode.

     Many human machine interface (HMI) applications, such as game controller joysticks, triggers, and keyboards, benefit from the sensor's unidirectional output. The A31010 is very small and only occupies a very small area of the circuit board. These devices are small 2.0 mm × 3.0 mm, 0.75 mm nominal height micro lead package (MLP/DFN). They are lead-free (Pb) and plated with 100% matte tin lead frames.
