Allegro's ACS70331 is a high-sensitivity, 1 MHz, GMR-based current sensor chip in a space-saving, low-resistance QFN and SOIC package

     ACS70331 is Allegro's first integrated high sensitivity current sensor IC suitable for 5a current sensing applications. It uses giant magnetoresistance (GMR) technology, which is 25 times more sensitive than traditional Hall effect sensors, and can sense current flowing through the magnetic field generated by the integrated dominant body with low resistance.

     The analog output provides a low noise high speed signal that is proportional to the current flowing through the primary circuit. The response time of this part is typically 535ns. The ACS70331 offers four factory-programmed sensitivity and offset levels to optimize performance over the desired current measurement range.

     The differential configuration of GMR components provides significant suppression of stray magnetic fields and stable operation even in magnetic noise environments, as opposed to integrated current conductors. The ACS70331 is powered by a single 3.3V power supply and operates in the full commercial temperature range from -40°C to 85°C. It comes in low-profile, space-saving surface-mounted QFN-12 and SOIC-8 packages.
