
CEVA, the world's leading licensor of signal processing platforms and artificial intelligence processor IP for smart and connected devices, announced that Ambiq Micro, a leader in ultra-low power solutions, has been licensed. CEVA's RivieraWaves Bluetooth Low Energy IP can be used for its next generation Sub-threshold Power Optimization Technology (SPOT) platform with integrated Bluetooth connectivity. CEVA's Bluetooth Low Energy IP already powers Ambiq Micro's Apollo3 Blue series of wireless system-on-a-chip (SoC), which is used in all applications requiring smart technology, from wearables to animal trackers and smart home devices from the world's largest brands.
The Apollo3 Blue series SoC solutions represent a giant leap forward in ultra-low power design, with excellent power consumption figures in both run and sleep mode, and a high-performance processing engine. Apollo3Blue devices provide the most efficient processing solutions on the market. To achieve connectivity, Apollo3 Blue products integrate energy-efficient Bluetooth Low Energy 5 radios and improved communication capabilities for ultra-low power always-on connectivity. At the heart of all Apollo3 products is Ambiq Micro's patented Subthreshold Power optimization technology (SPOT™). SPOT can significantly reduce energy consumption while still providing enough application processing power to add more functionality and extend the life of battery-powered devices, including auditory devices, wearables, IoT endpoints and voice-controlled applications.
