Ams OSram, a global leader in optical solutions, announced that it and Supernode, a leading provider of multi-industry 3D vision solutions in China, have jointly launched a home sweeping robot solution using AMS OSram's advanced Belago infrared LED. This cooperation has greatly improved the visual recognition capability of robots, bringing revolutionary progress to the field of household cleaning and industrial service robots.
The navigation system is the core component of the sweeping robot, equivalent to the "nerve center", which is responsible for collecting environmental information, determining its own positioning and path planning. The vacuum sweeping robot solution launched by the two parties is equipped with AMS OSram Belago 1.2 Dot Pattem llluminator infrared LED, which has excellent infrared fill light function, which can provide dot matrix and infrared fill light on untextured objects such as white walls. The Belago transmitter generates about 5,000 points at 940nm wavelength, and the stereo matching algorithm can take advantage of these lattice patterns to handle these low-texture cases and achieve highly accurate depth maps, with the added benefit of reducing the computational load required to perform depth calculations.
The Belago dot matrix illuminator is available in a mini-package, compatible with standard lead-free reflux processes, and can be used in a wide range of 3D sensing platforms, including mobile devices, iot devices, and robotics. In addition, Belago leds comply with human eye safety standards, ensuring safety in use. It significantly improves the object recognition ability of the sweeping robot, enabling it to accurately avoid obstacles and efficiently plan the cleaning path.
With the help of several Belago infrared leds, the visual recognition solution can achieve a maximum recognition distance of 60-70m under bright light. These technical advantages make Belago suitable not only for domestic vacuum cleaners, but also for industrial service robots such as AGVs (autonomous guided vehicles) and unmanned service robots.
