Ams OSram launches new infrared LED with new IR

     Ams Osram, a global leader in optical solutions, announced the release of its latest IR: 6 infrared (IR) LED chip technology. Compared with AMS OSram's existing IR LED transmitter chips, the technology can increase display brightness by 35% and work efficiency by 42%. The new IR: 6 thin-film chip technology will enable manufacturers to significantly improve lighting and image quality, achieve faster and more accurate biometric identification, reduce energy consumption and extend battery life, especially for products such as security cameras, personal computers and biometric authentication systems in smart doorbells.

     In the field of phototherapy medical devices for the treatment of tissue damage, the IR: 6 chip, with its superior optical power output, enables device manufacturers to reduce the number of leds used while maintaining the therapeutic effect, thereby reducing device size and material costs.

     Ams OSRAM's OSLON P1616 High power LED series and OSLON Black series are the first products to host this new technology. The OSLON P1616 High Power LED series is available in a 1.6mm×1.6mm compact package. The OSLON Black series offers a variety of light Angle options, including a new rectangular lighting field of view designed specifically for IR cameras.

     Ams OSram Product Marketing Manager Dominic Bergmann stressed: "The newly upgraded IR: 6 technology puts AMS OSram's infrared leds ahead of the market in terms of brightness and efficiency. "Customers who replace their existing infrared leds with new leds based on IR: 6 will be able to instantly achieve better application performance while reducing power consumption."
