Ams introduces the new TARA2000-AUT series VCSEL floodlight

In the Driver Condition Monitoring System (DMS), which monitors the driver's concentration during driving, the higher optical output power can cover the entire illuminated area (FOI), meaning that a single high-power TARA2000-AUT illuminator can replace multiple low-power transmitters. This will allow automotive Oems to use the technology to reduce module footprint, component count and cost. The TARA2000-AUT's peak light output center wavelength is 940nm and the spectrum is very narrow, allowing automotive Oems to easily cope with sunlight interference and improve the performance and reliability of monitoring systems.

In addition to the above, the TARA2000-AUT also offers ultra-wide illuminated area (FOI) products that bring excellent responsiveness to gesture sensing applications, helping to enhance the driver and passenger experience. Wide Illuminated Area (FOI) products are suitable for in-cabin monitoring systems, such as detecting whether passengers are wearing seat belts or automatically adjusting airbags for baby seats and child passengers. These systems also help detect children, pets or items left in the vehicle and prevent accidents that could cause serious injury through in-cabin optical monitoring.
