
Ams introduces the TSL2584TSV, an ambient light sensor with through-silicon technology and a package size of just 1.145 x 1.66mm and a height of 0.32mm. In display management applications, the use of ambient light sensors to automatically control background light levels can extend battery life while ensuring the best user experience. The new TSL2584TSV is the world's smallest ambient light sensor, almost half the size of other brands of ambient light sensors.
Ams uses its own wafer fabrication expertise to make advanced TSV packaging technology part of its light sensor portfolio. TSV packaging technology can effectively improve product performance, it does not need to weld wire, the device I/O port and the solder ball directly connected. TSV packaging technology enables the device to pass the first level of humidity sensitivity evaluation, improve its performance in the temperature and humidity cycle test, and greatly reduce the resistance corrosion rate, effectively improve the reliability of the device.
The phototropic response of the TSL2584TSV enables accurate measurement of light intensity, even when located behind dark glass. Advanced wafer process technology and precisely installed interference filters help achieve superior performance of ambient light sensors. By filtering out excess infrared light, the sensor will be able to more accurately measure ambient light, resulting in a photophile response.
