Analog Device's buck Simple switch is designed for automotive, industrial, and GSM power supplies

     The LT8645 and LT8646 from Analog Devices are 65v, 8 A synchronous step-down/step-down regulators. These regulators feature a silent switching architecture designed to minimize EMI/EMC emissions while providing high efficiency at high switching frequencies. The architecture includes the integration of bypass capacitors to optimize all of the fast current loops inside, and makes it easy to achieve the advertised electromagnetic interference performance by eliminating layout sensitivity. This performance makes the LT8645 and LT8646 ideal for noise-sensitive applications and environments.

     Fast, clean, low-overstroke switching edges enable efficient operation even at high switching frequencies, resulting in a smaller overall solution. Peak-current mode control with a minimum real-time of 40 nanoseconds allows for high order drop ratio, even at high switching frequencies. The LT8646 implements external compensation via VC pins for current sharing and fast transient response at high switching frequencies.

     Burst-mode operation enables ultra-low standby current consumption, jump-mode allows full switching frequencies at lower output loads, or spread-spectrum operation further reduces EMI/EMC emissions. The soft start and trace functions are accessed via TR/SS pins, and an EN/UV pin can be used to set the exact input voltage UVLO threshold. CLKOUT pins synchronize other regulators to the LT8645 and LT8646. The regulator is available in a compact 32-lead LQFN package and operates in a temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.
