Analog Devices LTC5597 Power detector

     Analog Devices' LTC5597 is the only RMS detector on the market operating above 40 GHz, capable of accurate power measurements in Q and v band satcom, Pt-Pt links, and a range of instrumentation and ATE devices (signal generators, signal analysers). It is a more compact, higher performance solution than the alternative discrete build and tune (Schottky) detectors (not RMS)..

     The LTC5597 is a high-precision RMS power detector that provides a very wide RF input bandwidth, from 100 MHz to 70 GHz. This makes the device suitable for a wide range of RF and microwave applications, such as point-to-point microwave linking, instrumentation and power control applications

     The DC output voltage of the detector is an accurate representation of the average signal power applied to the RF input. The response is dB linear, with a logarithmic slope of 28.5 mV/dB over 35 dB dynamic range, usually better than ±1 dB accuracy. The detector is particularly suitable for the measurement of waveforms with peak factor (CF) up to 12 dB and waveforms with significant changes in peak factor during measurement.

     For greater accuracy and lower output ripple, the average bandwidth can be adjusted by connecting the capacitor outside between the FLTR and the output pin. enable interface switches devices between active measurement mode and low power off mode.
