Analog Devices protection devices for battery protection in automotive, computer and portable battery applications

     The LTC4376 is a 7 a ideal diode with reverse input protection. The device uses an internal 15 mm n-channel MOSFET in place of Schottky diodes when diodes or diodes and high current diodes are applied. LTC4376 reduces power consumption, heat dissipation, and PC board area.

     The LTC4376 controls forward voltage drop through the internal MOSFEts to ensure smooth current transmission without oscillations, even at light loads. A quick shutdown minimizes reverse current transients in case of power failure or short circuit. The device can also easily replace the power supply, improving the overall reliability of the system.

     Due to its low operating voltage, small solution size, and ability to withstand reverse input voltage, the LTC4376 performs well in portable battery applications. The static current can be reduced to 9μA depending on the machine mode. SHDN pins can also control the forward current path when the external MOSFETs are used back-to-back in series with the internal mosFeTs.
