Apex Microtechnology's MP106 output power amplifier is optimized to drive dynamic capacitive loads with an output voltage swing up to -48 V

     Apex Microtechnology's MP106 is a power amplifier that features a voltage swing up to -48 V, short-term output current over 30 a, drive capacity over 500 nF, and internal power dissipation of 130 W. The MP106 is designed to drive dynamic capacitor-loaded piezoelectric devices such as those used in inkjet printer nozzles.

     Using Apex's proprietary technology, the MP106 packages discrete semiconductors and passive components in thermally highly conductive but electrically isolated packages to deliver high power on a small footprint. The open frame design measures only 73.4 mm x 41.4 mm and is mounted above the print head if desired.

     The amplifier gain is fixed at -15 V/V or -20 V/V. It is optimized to achieve a -36 V output voltage swing with a 3v DAC. A combination of internal and external compensation provides optimal rotation rate (50 V/μs) and ensures stability while reducing the overall number of components required for ease of design. The unique electrical characteristics of the MP106 are designed for applications that are compatible with Samba print heads from Fujifilm Dimatix or other similar inkjet print heads and require high output fidelity independent of load
