Artesyn Embedded Technologies' LCB family of power supplies for enclosed industrial devices

     Artesyn Embedded Technologies has introduced the LCB family of enclosed AC-DC power supplies, including 23 new models, to provide a reliable, low-cost solution for general-purpose industrial applications requiring a single low-voltage DC power supply. The new power supply combines high efficiency (typically 89% or 90%) with very low no-load power consumption (only 0.5W).

     The LCB series comes in four series with rated power output ratings of 35, 50, 100 and 150 W. LCB35, LCB50 and LCB100 series each have 6 single output models with voltages of 3.3V, 5v, 12v, 15v, 24v and 48v respectively. The LCB150 series has five single-output models with voltages of 5v, 12v, 15v, 24v and 48v. The LCB35 and LCB50 LCB100 series units accept global 88 V (AC) to 264 (AC) inputs and are also capable of 373 V (DC) inputs from 125 V (DC), while the LCB150 model accepts an 88 V (AC) to 132 (AC) or 176 V (AC) to 264 (AC) input and also capable of 373 V (DC) input from 248 V (DC).

     Designed for normal convection cooling, all LCB home power supplies are adapted to ambient operating temperatures ranging from -25 °C to 70°C, with linear drop values exceeding 50°C. The LCB home power supply is housed in a compact, sturdy, low-profile fully ventilated metal housing. All connections are made via semi-enclosed screw terminals and an LED "power" indicator light is provided. Externally accessible trimmer pot allows output voltage adjustment ±10%.

     The power supply has comprehensive protection functions such as output overvoltage, overcurrent and short circuit. They are UL/TUV 60950-1 safety certified and have very high computational MTBF ranging from 200,000 hours to 460,000 hours, making them ideal "fit and ignore" power solutions for long life applications.
