Diodes Corporation is a leading global manufacturer and supplier of high-quality, application-specific standard products for a broad range of markets, including standalone, logic, analog and mixed-signal semiconductors. The company introduced the PI4ULS5V108. The device is an 8-channel, high-speed bidirectional potential converter designed for cross-IC communication between devices operating on different voltage supply rails. Its product applications are locked in the fields of personal computers, servers, networks, telecommunications and consumer electronics.
When the capacitive load is less ≤30pF, the PI4ULS5V108 can support the boost conversion of up to 100 MHz and the buck conversion of more than 100 MHz. This makes it suitable for a variety of personal computer or consumer electronics interfaces, such as GPIO, MDIO, SDIO, UART, SMBus, PMBus, I2C and SPI. No directional pin control is required for voltage potential conversion, which minimizes system workload.
The eight I/O channels of this potential converter can operate below 0.9V and 5V, and each I/O channel can be set to a different voltage conversion level to increase system flexibility. The extremely low on-resistance minimizes signal distortion, and the PI4ULS5V108's wider conversion voltage range makes it suitable for consumer electronics interfaces. Both the Enable and I/O pins are electrostatic protected (8kV HBM and 1kV CDM).
