Bosch's unique sensor nodes enable intelligent 9-axis absolute positioning

     The BNO055 from Bosch Sensortec is the first in the Application Specific Sensor Node (ASSN) family to implement intelligent 9-axis absolute positioning sensors that include sensors and sensors integrated in a single package.the BNO055 is a system package (SiP) that integrates a triaxial 14-bit accelerometer, a triaxial 16-bit gyroscope (with a range of ±2000 degrees per second), a triaxial geomagnetic sensor, and a 32-bit microcontroller running the company's BSX3.0 FusionLib software. At just 5.2 x 3.8 x 1.1mm3, it is much smaller than comparable discrete or system-on-board solutions.

     By integrating sensors and sensor fusion into a single device, BNO055 simplifies the integration process for customers. This frees them from complex multi-vendor solutions and allows them to spend more time on product innovation, including novel applications such as wearable hardware. It's also perfect for augmented reality, more immersive gaming, personal health and fitness, indoor navigation, and any other application that requires context awareness.

     The Bosch Sensortec BNO055 Shuttle board is a PCB fitted with a BNO055 absolute bearing sensor. It makes it easy to access the sensor's pins through a simple socket. Because all Bosch Sensortec sensor shuttle boards have the same footprint, they can be inserted into Bosch Sensortec's advanced development tools, such as development boards or application boards. Of course, the BNO055 shuttle board can also be used for the user's own implementation.
