Bourns Introduces New Chip Inductor Series CWF1610 and CWF2414

Bourns announces the CWF1610 and CWF2414 chip inductor families. These inductors feature a wirewound construction on a ferrite core to provide high inductance, Q, and self-resonant frequency, as well as low DC resistance in a compact size over the -40 to +125°C operating temperature range . These features make this series ideal for RF signal processing, resonant circuits, decoupling, noise filters, and DC power line applications in audio headsets, cable modems, set-top boxes, hard drives, tablet computers, and various mobile electronic devices

     Bourns, Inc. announces the CWF1610 and CWF2414 chip inductor families. These inductors feature a wirewound construction on a ferrite core to provide high inductance, Q, and self-resonant frequency, as well as low DC resistance in a compact size over the -40 to +125°C operating temperature range . These features make this series ideal for RF signal processing, resonant circuits, decoupling, noise filters, and DC power line applications in audio headsets, cable modems, set-top boxes, hard drives, tablet computers, and various mobile electronic devices.

     Thicker winding structures around the magnetic core enable lower DC resistance and high Q values of 13 to 16 in these miniature inductors compared to multilayer or thin-film technologies. In addition, the high Q provided by the new inductors is designed for high impedance at resonance of the inductor-capacitor LC circuit, and low losses at high frequency operation. Bourns model CWF1610 and CWF2414 chip inductors also feature high self-resonant frequencies, which translate to low distributed capacitance and maintain inductive characteristics over a wide frequency range. With saturation currents up to 860/1100 mA and current ratings up to 700/1300 mA, Bourns' new chip inductors maintain high inductance at the higher peak currents required by DC power line applications.
