     Bourns introduces SRN2012T series of semi-shielded power inductors. The new inductor features a wire-wound structure on a ferrite core, operating temperatures ranging from -40 to +125 °C, excellent self-resonance frequency and low DC resistance to provide high inductance and Q values. Coupled with the compact size makes this series the best choice for audio headsets, true wireless stereo headsets, cable modems, set-top boxes, hard drives, tablet computers, and a variety of mobile electronic devices for RF signal processing, resonant circuits, decoupling and noise filters, and DC power line applications.

 

     Bourns SRN2012T power inductors are RoHS compliant and halogen-free. Compared with the unshielded product option, coating the perimeter of the inductor windings with magnetic epoxy resin not only improves the shielding strength, but also significantly reduces the magnetic field radiation. These miniature power inductors have lower DC resistances and high Q values of 13 to 15 to provide high impedance in LC resonant circuits and reduce losses at high frequencies, as the wire-wound structure provides better performance than conventional laminated inductors and thin film inductors.

 

     The Bourns SRN2012T power inductor also features a high self-resonant frequency to achieve low distributed capacitance and maintain inductor characteristic consistency over a wide band operating range. Overall, the Bourns new power inductor has a saturation current of up to 1100 mA and a current rating of up to 1300 mA, maintaining high sensitivity at larger peak currents and meeting the requirements of common DC power line applications.
