Bourns adds 20 new Multifuse models that significantly expand circuit protection design options

     Bourns announces the addition of 20 new Multifuse polymer PTC restorable fuses. Bourns' new high-power rated fuse is designed to provide customers with a wider range of overcurrent/overtemperature protection options in a smaller 1206 package. These smaller packages allow customers to meet smaller board space requirements, helping to reduce costs. Compared to the 1812 package of the Bourns MF-NSMF110/16-2, the new 1206 package fuse model provides designers with 67% board space savings, helping to meet various requirements such as 16 Vmax.

     The new MF-NSMF series from Bourns enhances the performance of fuses with innovative freeXpansion™ technology, enabling the ability to handle higher currents and voltages, improving their resistance stability and enabling a smaller package. In addition to expanded design options from 14 to 34 options, these new fuses offer a wide range of hold current (Ihold) options ranging from 0.05A to 2.0A, and multiple rated voltage (Vmax) options ranging from 6 VDC to 60 VDC. These enhancements are particularly suitable for providing highly reliable overcurrent and overtemperature protection in low-DC voltage ports such as those prevalent in USB, HDMI, HDTV, personal computers, laptops, data centers, and portable consumer electronics.
