Bourns introduces AEC-Q200 compliant and sulfur-resistant thick film chip resistor array model series

     Bourns has announced several new thick film chip resistor array model families compliant with the AEC-Q200 standard. Bourns designed new surface-mount models CATxxA-LF, CAYxxA-LF and CAYxxA-AS series to help increase available board space and reduce costs. Providing long-life protection against many sulfur-containing environments, the CAYxxA-AS series is Bourns' first chip array to meet both the AEC-Q200 standard and the sulfur resistance requirements based on the ASTM-B-809-95 and EIA-977 (Test Parameter B) standards, making it an ideal candidate for a wide range of transportation, consumer electronics, and environmental protection applications. Excellent circuit conditioning solutions for industrial automation, power, and LED lighting and communication base stations for applications that must operate under extreme conditions.

     These latest series of resistors from Bourns are constructed using thick film elements printed on ceramic substrates, allowing for a larger resistance range and increased design flexibility in terms of size and dimension. The new AEC-Q200 compliant CATxxA-LF concave and CAYxxA-LF and CAYxxA-AS convex chip arrays are 1 mm and 1.6 mm wide and contain two to four isolated thick film resistance elements that are printed onto a single ceramic substrate.
