
Bourns Electronic Components has announced the addition to its existing AEC-Q200 compliant CSM2F series of high-power current detection resistors. Bourns has designed the new series as an efficient, reliable, cost-effective and accurate measurement solution for battery management systems (BMS), industrial controls and other high-current applications.
Compared with other technologies, current detection resistors have high measurement accuracy and relatively low cost, so they are becoming more and more popular. These resistors detect the current and convert it into an easy-to-measure voltage that is proportional to the current flowing through the device.
The CSM2F series is available in four different sizes: 6918, 8518, 7036 and the new 8536 metric size, and includes two new terminal finishes. With this announcement, then business Bourns introduces two new styles of surface finishing &ndash's; All copper plated and bare copper. The new "fully plated" model undergoes a tinning process after the material is pressed to create a protective layer that provides enhanced performance, long-term stability and low resistance drift after benefiting from load life testing. The "bare copper" version of the construction is not tinned to enhance TCR performance, and the copper terminal is covered with a protective layer to help extend the life of the resistor.
Extended Bourns ® The CSM2F series has resistance values as low as 25 nanoseconds; Microeuro up to 200. Microohm, permanent power rating up to 50 nanoseconds; Watt, continuous current up to 1414  Amplifiers and high pulse power processing capability. The series is manufactured using an E-Beam welding resistance copper alloy where the metal alloy current sensing element provides a thermal EMF as low as 0.25; Low TCR of V/K and 50. PPM / ° C in the temperature range of 20 ° C Celsius to 60 ° C.
