Bourns introduces the latest micro package size of precision current detection resistor

Bourns ® CFN series introduces new micro 0402 and 0603 packages, and has a lower resistance temperature coefficient option of ± 50 ppm/° C available in 0603 and larger package sizes.

     In current sensing, it is very important to have an appropriately low resistance temperature coefficient, which depends on the materials used in the resistance module, the rated power and the physical size of the module. Bourns uses metal foil technology to achieve low resistance values, ranging from 5 to 40 milliohms, and can still provide 0.25 to 1 W rated power for mobile device applications on such a small component. The combination of the new ± 50 ppm/° C option with a low resistance value helps minimize component self heating, allowing the resistor to maintain high reliability and a tolerance of 1-5% at all times.
