Bourns introduces the new 1220 TPMOV series surge protection kit with built-in thermal protection

     Bourns, a leading manufacturer of electronic components for power, protection and sensing solutions, introduces the new 1220 TPMOV series of surge protection components. The latest SPD series designed by Bourns features advanced built-in thermal protection to protect sensitive equipment from severe power surges. It also effectively prevents thermal runaway caused by repeated high energy surges, overvoltage or transient overvoltage (TOV) conditions. The series also provides powerful surge suppression in compact PCB designs.

     Bourns' new micro Universal Surge Protector (SPD) has a maximum discharge current rating of 75kA (8/20 microsecond), complies with UL 1449 approved components and complies with IEC 61643-11 standards. These characteristics make the Type 1220 SPD the ideal power protection solution for a wide range of industrial, commercial and green energy equipment, including electric vehicle charging stations (EVCS), battery energy storage systems (BESS), photovoltaic and wind power generation equipment.
