Bridgetek introduces EVE chips for display modules from optoelectronics manufacturer Riverdi

     Bridgetek's latest generation Embedded Video Engine (EVE) graphics controllers have received high recognition. With the recently released EVE chip BT817, leading optoelectronics manufacturer Riverdi has launched a new range of displays. These industrial-grade displays are aimed at challenging high-end applications, but are positioned at attractive price points on par with commercial-grade products.

     Thanks to the high precision of the BT817 chip, the new Riverdi display is able to support pixel resolutions up to 1280x800. Treating the content displayed as a series of objects can significantly reduce the data overhead involved. This translates into an extremely streamlined solution with significantly fewer components and faster response times.

The highly integrated EVE solution means faster reaction times and higher resolution levels, while saving valuable PCB space and having lower power consumption, so we decided to take a platform approach and apply it to the entire family of products, from smaller units to the largest formats."

     Eve-based Riverdi displays are available in a variety of different size formats, from 3.5 "all the way up to 4.3", 5.0 "and 7.0" to 10.1 ". Brighter output (up to 1000cd/m2) is obtained using LCD In-plane switching (IPS) technology. This also means that these units have enhanced color rendering and wider viewing Angle capabilities. Optical bonding technology is integrated into display components as standard, even single pieces, thus preventing condensation, reducing internal reflection, improving optical performance, and providing greater durability. In addition, capacitive projective touch screens in these displays allow for touch interaction through protective glass of 15 mm thick, and also support operation with gloves.

     With the help of Bridgetek's innovative thinking, the new Riverdi displays are optimized for the most demanding tasks. They will be used in medical diagnostic instruments, home health care monitoring equipment, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, industrial automation systems, vending machines and other fields. In addition, these products have superior electromagnetic interference (EMI) and electrostatic discharge (ESD) immunity and operate at temperatures ranging from -20°C to +70°C.
