C&K Launches SDS Ultra Low Current Series Switches

C&K, a leading manufacturer of high quality electromechanical switches, has introduced the SDS family of ULC (Ultra-low current) detection switches. The switch was developed to reduce the power consumption of battery-powered devices.      C&K introduced SDS series ULC (ultra-low current) detection switch. The switch was developed to reduce the energy consumption of battery powered equipment. With more and more devices relying on battery power, how to minimize energy consumption and extend battery life has become a subject that designers must consider.

 

     SDS series ULC switches have many types of contacts to choose from: normally open, normally closed, silver plated and gold plated, with stronger corrosion resistance. This series of switches support ultra-low current (10 µ A) applications and are suitable for medical and Internet of Things devices, intelligent metering, smoke detectors, networks and other fields. Tests have proved that SDS series ULC switches can reduce the battery energy consumption of medical and Internet of Things equipment and other applications. This switch is low power consumption and thin, especially suitable for handheld devices.

 

     The SDS series ULC switch of C&K adopts an over travel plunger rubber handle with an over travel distance of 2mm. Cedric Garropin, product manager of C&K, explained: "With more and more battery powered devices, we have developed ultra-low current switches to meet the market demand. Compared with other switches, this switch requires lower current for operation, so it consumes less power for operation."

 

     All products of SDS detection switch series adopt SPST design, with switch service life of 50,000 times, operating force of 75gf and right angle terminals. These switches have 2mm ultra-thin PCB mounting structure, which is an ideal choice for PCB design with limited space.
