C&K has announced the introduction of a two-circuit light-touch switch as a significant addition to its KSC series of light-touch switches. The new KSC-DCT touch switch supports the SPDT NC-NO dual circuit function, allowing for dual output through a single input. Packaged in a small 6.2mm x 6.2mm x 2.9mm PCB-mount package, the silicone 70SH starter included in the package extends the height to the board surface at 5.2mm for easy handling and easier integration via pre/rear stroke.
The new switch has a rated operating life of 300,000 cycles, a required operating force of 4.75N, and offers a nominal travel distance of 0.85mm. Incorporating industry-recognized C&K switch haptic feedback technology, the KSC-DCT switch delivers superior haptic feedback performance when pressed.
The new switch is IP67 waterproof and operates in the temperature range from -40°C to 85°C, making it ideal for use in harsh environments - especially in the automotive, industrial and medical sectors.
Jerome Smolinski, Global Product Manager at C&K, said: "The KSC-DCT touch switch is an important addition to our KSC series of touch switches. It is the first touch switch with IP67 waterproof rating in an SMT package, 6.2mm x 6.2mm, and supports SPDT functionality. In fact, this switch is the smallest and lowest-cost alternative to microswitches available on the market today."
