C&K introduces quiet, long-travel touch switches for specific soft tactile needs

     C&K, a leading manufacturer of high-reliability electromechanical switches, has announced the KSC SLT touch switch, the latest in its KSC switch family. The new KSC SLT is specifically designed for the tactile requirements of long strokes, with a low operating tone, thus avoiding the need for workarounds to suppress clicks. This tactile response is suitable for applications such as automotive, consumer applications and instrumentation.

     With a compact package of 6.2 x 6.2 x 5.0mm, the KSC SLT is ideal for applications where PCB space is tight, thereby saving customers space and costs. The KSC SLT also offers long travel to meet typical design requirements, making it easier and faster to integrate into a variety of applications.

     The new switch has a rated electrical life of 200,000 cycles. This high reliability means that users can reduce the risk of expensive rework or field failures. The KSC SLT also offers an IP40 protection rating through a specific design that makes it less likely to be contaminated by contaminants, reducing the cost of scrapping or rework.
