C&K expands the product range of magnetic short-range sensors to improve the flexibility and reliability of non-contact positioning and short-range detection in harsh environments. The MPSR series sensors feature a reinforced aluminum housing and stainless steel cable for unmatched sensing performance in dirty environments.
With a service life of up to 4 million operations, the sensor enables reliable and accurate remote monitoring even in the presence of dirt, dust, oil, grease, water and other potential contaminants that can degrade the performance of other sensor components. With an operating temperature range of -40°F to 176°F (-40°C to 80°C), it can be used in harsh thermal environments. The sensor is UL61058 approved.
The introduction of Type C switching provides two outputs, both of which can be switched to achieve additional feedback capabilities. The MPSR series sensors can be installed quickly, easily and cost-effectively in any environment, making them ideal for automotive, factory automation, industrial, iot, security and other applications.
The MPSR series sensors feature fully sealed contacts that isolate electrical switch contacts from the external environment, eliminating the risk of sparks and making them ideal for zone 2 hazardous area applications.
Tanios BouRamia, Global Product Manager at C&K, said: "Magnetic short-range sensors allow for non-contact object detection outside the usual range of products such as inductive sensors. Although the package size is small, it has a remote sensing range and can be installed in different locations via wire harnesses. "Reinforced MPSR Series magnetic short-range sensors feature a reinforced aluminum housing that provides maximum protection for components and enables remote monitoring in virtually any environmental condition."
The normally open contacts on the MPSR series sensors are disconnected when the included magnet is moved from the short range to the sensor, and these contacts are closed when the magnet is in the operating range. In contrast, the normally closed contacts are closed when the magnet is moved from the short range to the sensor, and these contacts are disconnected when the magnet is in the operating range. The 30V 3W rating means that the sensor can be used to switch signal levels or load depending on the application.
