C&K launches ultra-thin touch switches for wearable devices

     C&K, a leading manufacturer of high-quality electromechanical switches, has developed a micro SMT touch switch for wearable and portable iot devices. The PTS847 series of side-start touch switches not only save space, but also have improved durability to cope with the drop shocks that consumer equipment often experiences.

     The PTS847 series touch switches are only 4.6mm x 2.2mm x 2.6mm in size and feature an edgemount configuration that is only 0.95mm higher than the PCB (printed circuit board), saving both PCB and consumer system space. SMT micro switches have a service life of up to 200,000 times and are commonly used in wearable devices such as sports watches, hearing AIDS, health monitoring devices, Bluetooth accessories and Internet of Things devices.

     The PTS847 series side start light touch switches offer greater reliability than conventional micro light touch switches and can be fitted with a robust bracket. The bracket adopts the "L" shaped end connection design, which can achieve higher welding strength in the operating direction. SMT touch switches can be fully integrated into the complete reflow soldering process, reducing production time and production costs for Oems.

     To meet a wide range of application requirements, the PTS847 series switches are available in two standard starting forces: 160gf and 350gf.
