COSEL Corporation has announced the expansion of its medical power product line

     COSEL Corporation has announced the expansion of its medical power line with the addition of UMA, the first two models of which are 30W UMA30F and 60W UMA60F. Both models use the 85 to 264VAC universal input range and comply with international safety standards. Designed for demanding medical applications, the UMA Series is suitable for body flotation (BF) applications and meets 2MOPP(IN/OUT) and 1MOPP(OUT/FG) safety requirements. Based on its solid platform, the design of this series of units has been optimized to provide very good cost performance for medical applications requiring high quality power solutions. The UMA series provides five DC output voltages: 5V, 12V, 15V, 24V, and 48V.

     Medical applications require powerful and highly reliable power sources that can be used globally and comply with safety regulations. Based on years of expertise, COSEL Power designers have developed optimized flyback topology platforms to provide superior cost performance while we do not compromise on quality and reliability. The UMA series can operate in the universal input range of 85 to 264VAC and has an output efficiency of up to 91%.

     There are currently four standard single output voltages available for the UMA30F: 5V/3A, 12V/2.5A, 24V/1.3A, and 48V/0.65A, and five standard single output voltages for the UMA60F: 5V/6A, 12V/4.5A, 15V/3.5A, 24V/2.5A, and 48V/1.25A. The output value is factory adjusted to a fixed value, but when output voltage regulation is required, a potentiometer option 'Y' is available.

     The UMA series includes current limiting circuit, overcurrent protection, and overvoltage protection. The power supply is versatile and robust and can operate in an ambient temperature range of -20 to +70 degrees Celsius. Derating may be required depending on the final equipment assembly style and cooling conditions. The UMA series has an excellent five-year warranty and complies with European RoHS and low voltage directives. The combination of compact size, excellent cost performance and high quality makes UMA series an ideal power solution for the medical market as well as industrial applications such as test and measurement and home appliances.

     Focusing on the medical field, UMA series input-output isolation complies with 2MOPP, input is rack grounded (FG), isolation complies with 1MOPP, and output is rack grounded (FG), isolation complies with 1MOPP. These power supplies have been certified by ANSI/AAMI ES60601-1 and EN60601-1 3rd Edition. In floating applications, the leakage current of patients must be less than 100 microampere. The 75 microampere value of UMA series is much lower than this limit, so it is very suitable for such applications.

     The UMA series complies with the following certifications: ANSI/AAMI ES60601-1, EN60601-1 Third Edition, C-UL (equivalent to CAN/CSA-C22.2 No.60601-1), UL62368-1, EN62368-1, C-UL (equivalent to CAN/CSA-C22.2 No.62368-1) in accordance with EN60335-1.

     To meet the needs of specific applications, three options are available, including adjustable output voltage (Y), terminal board (T), and for applications requiring additional security, the UMA30F and UMA60F have enhanced isolation in compliance with IEC Class II (E). The UMA30F measures 50.8 x 21.7 x 76.2 mm [2.0 x 0.85 x 3.0 in] (W x H x D) and has a maximum weight of 80 g. The UMA60F is only 2.5mm (24.2mm) taller than the UMA30F and has a maximum weight of 120g.
