CSRmesh Home Automation solutions provide easy, seamless control and connectivity for your home environment

     CSR Corporation announced the introduction of CSRmesh Home Automation, an updated version of CSRmesh™, a disruptive Bluetooth® Smart solution. CSRmesh home automation solutions are suitable for a wide range of applications, including the control of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, door locks and window sensors. CSRmesh now enables countless Bluetooth Smart sensors and actuators to easily connect via smartphones, tablets, PCS or wearables to build overall home automation.

     The CSRmesh protocol was first introduced in 2014 and is optimized for lighting control applications. The CSRmesh home automation solution is further extended to control various sensors or brakes added to the mesh network. Anthony Murray, senior vice president, CSR Business Unit, said: "Since its launch, the CSRmesh protocol has created a variety of new capabilities for iot applications. Our customers have also developed smart lighting solutions that are easy to install and use, with unlimited signal range and no hub required. This new release will enable developers to create more efficient, secure and scalable home automation solutions to meet consumers' higher demands for smart home environments."

     CSRmesh integrates Bluetooth configuration and control protocols into CSR's mature Bluetooth Smart devices, such as the CSR101x™ family. It uses Bluetooth Smart technology to transmit the signal to other connected devices, which then receive the signal back. More importantly, solutions based on the CSRmesh protocol do not require complex installation, pairing, or the use of access devices such as routers, ensuring a superior user experience. Consumers can control it not only from any smartphone, tablet, PC or Smart device equipped with Bluetooth Smart, but also from standard controls equipped with Bluetooth Smart, such as lighting switches or control panels.

     A recent survey commissioned by CSR revealed a growing consumer interest in "smart home" solutions. For example, 72 percent of respondents said they would like a lighting system that automatically turns on and off based on who is moving around the house. Manufacturers are using CSRmesh to develop cloud connectivity solutions that enable a variety of home controls and enable users to manage specific behaviors, such as automatically notifying users to take action when a door or window in the home is left open, an appliance is left on, or a smoke alarm goes off. Because CSRmesh's home automation solution controls all infrastructure from the chip to the cloud, it also enables users to remotely control and monitor their homes from anywhere in the world.

     CSR is working with the Bluetooth SIG Smart Mesh Research Group to develop an international standard for Bluetooth Smart mesh as soon as possible. "CSR is committed to supporting iot application development and is actively working with the Bluetooth SIG to standardize the Bluetooth Smart mesh, ensuring interoperability among all compatible devices and preventing the fragmentation that impedes market growth," Murray added.

     CSRmesh Home automation solutions will be available early in the second quarter of 2015. To help developers get their products to market faster, CSR has also launched a CSRmesh development kit that provides a complete set of evaluation and software development tools, including Android and iOS app source code. The development kit also supports upcoming home automation solutions.
