Cirrus Logic's CS43198 low-power dac delivers superior system-level audio performance without consuming battery life

     Cirrus Logic's CS43198 is a low-power audio dac that delivers superior system-level audio performance without consuming battery life. These integrated circuits minimize board space requirements while allowing performance and characteristics to drive design differences.

     The CS43198 device features a high impedance of 600 ohm 130 dBA dynamic range, a THD + N rating of -115 dB, and an in-reactor isolation greater than 110 dB. The proprietary digital interpolation filter supports five selectable digital filter responses to reduce pre-echoes and ringing artifacts. Filtering options include low group delay for pseudo-linear phase and fast or slow roll.

     The patented on-chip DirectStream digital (DSD) processor supports the DSD256 in direct-in mode, maintaining audio integrity by providing soft-ramp non-sampled volume control and Scarlet Book recommended 50 kHz filtering. The seamless transition between DSD and PCM playback paths is the result of volume matching and channel mixing of analog output levels. These CS43198 are available in a 40-pin QFN or 42-ball WLCSP package.

     These devices are designated as MasterHIFI audio products to meet Cirrus Logic's highest standards for high fidelity audio playback. These standards focus on specific thresholds that indicate true hi-fi audio, including high dynamic range, low distortion, superior frequency response, high sampling rates, and high bit depth.
